South East Arts & Crafts Guide

Exit strategy

These days it is absolutely essential to have an exit strategy before you start anything new. Or at the very least, of course, to have one well before events oblige you to beat a tragic retreat. If, however, you have already been overtaken by stress or boredom, a good general rule is to head for the hills. More precisely, to seek comfortable refuge in the carefully renovated, craft-friendly and very well appointed homestead of the Twilight 2 Twilight rural zone at Esk.
The homestead is nicely situated about an hour’s drive from Brisbane and a little less than that from Toowoomba. Far enough away without wasting valuable recreational time in travelling. Here, dissipated corporates or dispirited crafties, artfully formed into inaction groups of around 10 people or so, can enjoy the view and fresh air, enjoy good food and take advantage of the plenteous workspace and facilities both inside the house and beneath the spreading covered veranda.

What you and your fellow traders or players get up to thereafter is for you to choose, but unless you elect to do so, what you won’t be doing is the cleaning, the cooking and those other horrid housekeeping chores. This is the secret of the true getaway; a carefree concentration on what you want to do. Mind you, a spell at the Twilight 2 Twilight home from home is itself very cleverly crafted so as not to be just about getting away, but rather more about you coming back with renewed energy and confidence.

Early in the New Year a special homestead party is planned to reward past contributors and to welcome prospective new patrons into the fold. Invitation only, so if you are planning something crafty or corporate in the near future that entails an invigorating spell away from it all, then wriggle an invite by calling (07) 3355 1787 or visit www.twilight2twilight.com
